What's up with the letter then, Snakeman?

It says it was a 4" when ordered?

Yes, I informed the seller and this was his response...

"I appreciate all the great knowledge. I had no idea. From what you say, I will change the wording on the auction."

Probably why with only 2 days left on the auction, it has zero bids, but his starting bid is still the same…..buyer beware.

 

I was a little confused also. I thought for a rebarrel, that one shown was really nice. Now I see to click on link.

 

The seller has some really nice stuff for sale, including a couple of S&W Registered Mags.

 

I guess he never did change the wording of the ad, like he said he would...

" I'm now told there is a great chance this was re-barreled to a 4" from a pre-war 6".
Whoever rebarreled it also found a 4" box to put it in? A 6" wouldnt fit in the box shown.

What year did they change the way the barrel is roll marked from the one shown above to the one shown in the link? I have a 1966 6" that is marked like the one in the link.
