Commissioned by the American Historical Foundation, but manufactured by Colt. Should it be included in the official list?

Tom , thanks for the big , audible laugh from reading the " mistake" moniker ..... I'm still smilin two hours later .
The gun definitely will NEVER be in my safe either . I don't have to like it though.
Wanted to also comment on the ALL AMERICAN - The brand , roll mark and setup ( 15 shot DA ) with BONUS " no-manual safety is enough for me to be quite happy . It ain't NO beretta 92 , Ruger p or smith whatever ...... MAKE MINE COLT .
Shot a few boxes of target and defense- went bang every time , and will put holes in paper or threat.

But as I started , THANKS for the good laugh !

Weagle - I wouldn't be surprised if AMERICAN historical foundation named this pistol .
Said " this is what we want , this is what we're calling it....... How much you need ?"

I too was like you ColtsDad , "COLT TO THE CORE" . I waited and waited for Colt to come out with their answer to the Glock , The All American 2000 . I waited because I was Colt to the core . I got mine , I opened

the case and hated the looks . I held it in my hands , and hated the feel . I started pulling , and continued to keep pulling and kept pulling and kept pulling and finally the gun fired it has the longest trigger pull I

have ever felt . After firing a mag of 15 , I had forearms like POPEYE . Also once and a while my mag would come loose like the YOUTUBE video . I thought I would get use to it .........NOPE . I sold it for a loss ,

Yeah I sold a Colt for a loss . About 5 years ago I put my COLT PRIDE away and bought a Glock 17 . A Glock is what I thought the ALL AMERICAN 2000 was supposed to be . I keep thinking to myself, Would Colt

be in their financial trouble if they had a weapon like the Glock ?

Regarding original question , I relate it to a late eighties or early nineties Chevy Nova - it's no late sixties early seventies V8.
Also , ALL COLT snakes are wheel guns. But we all know that .

All those names John dropped are low budget harbor freight places MOSTLY .
yeah , I have a handful of COLT pocketwatches and at least one folder from F . Mint - hey , they say Colt .

I think lew Horton and TALO has some cool product ....... Top Notch , but still BOTH in my eyes have some gaudy guns.
but yeah , I like what I like and you like what you like ........ ALL GOOD !
BTW - ginger AND maryann :q

hawkeye - I hate glocks and AK 's just like Jeff Gordon and NY YANKEEES .
but , I respect them ALL , just because they're WINNERS .

Kinda like I said before - Honda & Toyota are smart buys - just never in my driveway . Good thing US. Automobiles have improved.

I like the slide marking on ALL AMERICAN -just the two words mean A LOT to me as an American .was really excited to show it to my son who is an awesome 6 " 200 lb FAST WR at 16 years old .
I'm a realist though , my forearms are like olive oyles -Maybe I need to shoot the AA2000 daily

Interestingly, they apparently made 1,000. I would assume they are very collectable since they would have been made in the Colt Custom Shop. I wonder where they all went. Note that this thread is eight (8) years old.

In so far as I know, companies like America Remembers, and American Historical buy normal standard production un-decorated guns from Colt and other makers, then have them embellished by private companies.
As such they will letter from Colt as standard production with no mention of any decorations, because Colt didn't make it with any.

These guns are not made or decorated by the Colt factory, and so don't count as Colt factory Edition models.
In this case, Colt never made the Rattle Snake, and so, it's not a part of the Colt snake series.
Colt did make the Colt Boa for Lew Horton, and so it's a real Colt snake model.

In this way, you could buy a S&W Model 27 revolver and have it decorated and sold as a "Registered Magnum", but it wouldn't be a real S&W factory pre-war Registered Magnum.
