I bought this P49, serial number A108651, some years ago and it came with a 52 marked holster with all the extras. It also came with the previous owner's Dienstbuchlein which shows it was issued to him in 1953. Web searches for information on the year of manufacture have only yielded confusing data so I'm not sure when it was manufactured but I know it's an earlier one from the shape of the slide release. Maybe CLASSIC12 can give me some insight into date of manufacture. It is a great shooter and prefers 124gr ammunition over 115gr stuff. I did four years of high school in Switzerland and was able to shoot quite a few Swiss military arms at a nearby range which left me with a great respect for Swiss firearms. The P49/P210 was my favorite handgun at the time and I was fortunate to be able to purchase this one when it came up for sale. Now if I could only find the K31 he was issued, serial number 876799, I'd be a really happy camper.

Beautiful gun. You are correct on the slide release difference. Yours is definitively from 1952.

The first contract delivery took place in September 1049 and was numbered 100’001 to 103’200

The second contract delivery took place in 1950 & 1951 and was numbered 103’201 to 107’210

The third contract delivery took place in 1952 and was numbered 107’211 to 109’710

The fourth contract delivery is not dated, but it is believed it took place in 1953 and was numbered 109’711 to 120’000

You guys have some beauties. It continues to amaze me that pistols of this precision were initially intended as military firearms. I'm not a collector, but have owned a few. My previous 210-6 had adjustable sights. I much preferred the adjustables to the fixed sights on my current -6.
