Steve McQueen, from all reports, was a nutso, unbalanced, not real-nice-guy, Bad-A childhood, the whole nine-yards - completely opposite from his film image unfortunately. I bet he had MANY Colts (and NON-Colts) and back then Pythons must have been .10 cents - (plus Steve could well afford several thousand even at today's prices).

One of the gun magazine did an interview with him years ago - well before his death.

He did like guns, and was both a shooter as well as a hunter.

I'd kinda doubt his being unbalanced - though he did have a 'free-form' childhood.

His service with the Marines settled him down, making him more responsible - but never curing his rebelliousness.

He earned the title of 'King of Cool' - no one's been able to claim it since.

Shame on him for not carrying a colt and posing on a colt forum. I think he is trying to pick a fight with someone on this sight. I guess he does have bad ways.

Oh, I thought he just took that photo. I knew that just being a wise ass.

In his last movie "The Hunter" he was a 1911 guy . He collected all kinds of cool stuff, but after he had his fun out of it, he would sell it and go off on his next kick. He didn`t put anything under glass. He drove those Porshes and rode those motorcycles. Carol Shelby hated to see one of his cobras in a museum

The revolver McQueen used in Bullit was a 2 1/2" bbl Diamondback. In the TV series "The FBI" the character "Inspector Lewis Erskine" (Efrem Zimbalist, Jr.) also carried a snub Diamondback. So did a friend of mine who carried it to make bank deposits, until it was stolen. My buddy would cry if he knew how much it is worth today.
