does anyone know how to have the picture open from the file number? It seems certain pictures are able to transfer and others don't.

There's lots of decent D-frames out there. I've found a number over time. It just takes perseverance and patience.

Here is one of my D frames... A blued Detective Special with an early Tylers T Grip:

I have loved the snub nosed Colts since I was a kid, watching "The Untouchables" with Robert Stack, or "M Squad", with Lee Marvin...or any of dozens of Film Noir movies which starred the great Colt (well, OK, a few Smith and Wessons as well) revolvers, and a few Colt autos as well, such as the great 1903 Hammerless!! But lots of Detective Specials.

Here is my latest Detective Special, it is also posted over in the DS thread. A 1964 nickle plated .38 Spl caliber version. I haven't learned how to take pictures of nickle yet!!

This is my third Detective Special, a more recent vintage, 1981, with the shrouded ejector rod, and the "clunky" grips. In really nice shape, but for some reason, probably because I didn't grow up seeing this one star in movies and TV dramas, it just seems a little too modern!! A great little gun, though, and certainly a keeper:

Here's another one of my D frames....a 1971 vintage Colt Agent, .38 Spl caliber, with Tyler T Grip. This one is in very nice condition, and is a great pocket carry revolver, light, six shots, wonderful workmanship,M what is not to like?....

Here's another Colt Agent, this one from 1974. It's also wearing a vintage Tyler T Grip, and because it's a little more worn and scuffed, plus it has the ejector rod shroud, it actually gets carried more than the others do. They all fit in the same pocket holster that I usually carry my S&W 340 PD in, a Galco horsehide pocket holster. The little Agent has 6 rounds vs the S&W's 5, and only weighs a few ounces more. It makes for a nice change every now and then:

Here is a Colt Cobra in .38 Special caliber. This is what my avatar, Lee Marvin carried in the show that the photo is taken from, “M Squad”. Although the publicity photo my avatar comes from has him holding a Smith and Wesson. Anyway, the Cobra is essentially a Detective Special with an aluminum frame. One of, if not the first Colt with the lightweight frame.

How about another Colt Cobra, a later version, with the shrouded ejector rod. This one came like this, with the Jay Scott imitation MOP grips. I keep meaning to find a set of the large grips that it no doubt came from the factory with, but I'm also tempted to add a vintage Tyle T Grip as I have on many of my other guns. The retired law enforcement officer who originally owned this gun seemed to like this set up:
