My Dback that was obtained several years ago. It's my "dress up" carry gun: anytime I wear a sportcoat the Dback goes in the shoulder rig. Gives me a carry opportunity, otherwise its a Kahr in a pocket holster.

My dad gave me this gun when I got out of the army in 1996. He carried it some. Has a little wear. Found the shells in an old 70's era leather jacket that was my dads. I carry it often. View attachment 613165
Great gun! Those look like the old Nyclads... based on their dubious storage container, I'd use them for display and photos but, for serious self defense I'd pick up a box of new standard load something or others...Golden Sabre's, Hydroshoks, etc... only because those have been bouncing around for 40 some years. You want to ensure it goes bang when you want it to. Being a light frame, stick with the standard loads and not the turbo charged +p stuff you see a lot of today. Just my thoughts...

My Grandfathers 1952 Cobra, D frame, Exactly as used when he was a Police Detective.

I took the hammer shield off for cleaning, but put it right back on, just as Gramps had it in his shoulder holster.

I like that one. I can just see your grandpa in a suit, tie and hat with that Cobra in a shoulder holster. So fifties.

Posted elsewhere on the forum, but here's my latest "D" frame...a 1968 Police Positive Special. Box is a little worn, but the gun is pristine, as far as I can tell. Need to get it out on a bright day or under strong light.... But it looks good to me. I have just wiped it down, it was dripping oil when I got it earlier today. I'll post better pics when I have some.

Here’s my D-Frame Family. A 1981 Diamondback 6” in .22 LR, a 1977 Cobra 2” and a 1973 Detective Special 2”. The Detective Special is one of my first two Colts, having purchased it from a good friend, which gave me the “Colt Fever”.

Here is my nickel Colt DS from 1975. Funny story about acquiring it. We had a barn sale in 2018 and one guy asked if we had any gun stuff for sale. I said no but asked if he did. He said yes - this Colt. So later that afternoon, I met him at his house, looked the pistol over and bought it.
