I have a very short window to grab one of these in 30-06 if anyone is interested. My understand is they did not make too many of these Supergrades with French Walnut. Cost would be $2,250.

Not a pre-64, but beautiful.

I looked at a few of these when in a famous Dallas gun shop about 1 month ago. Very nice looking rifles. For the price, I thought they were a killer deal. I didn't know winchester even still made super grades. They're not pre-64 good, but they're good.

Is the checkering hand cut?

I have a recent manufacture Model 70 Super Grade. The checkering pattern lacks the fleur-de-lis and the wood - while good looking - isn’t as fancy. However, the bolt is jeweled, the action is very nice and it’s a good rifle. Controlled round feed with a Mauser extractor and manual ejector.
