XR3 Red VS XR3 Ruger grips- head ache?

Gents hoping for some info- I found a set of sambar stag Ruger XR3 'red' Vaquero grips, I really liked, got a fair deal on them- pulled the trigger.

Wondering- if anyone knows- if?

The XR3 'red' Ruger grips, will only fit the Old original large frame Vaquero and not the new 'mid frame' Vaquero, is that correct?

Could they (XR3 'red' grips) possibly be fitted to a birdshead new Vaquero?

Correct.

Possibly with A LOT of modification.

Be aware it is a fairly simple matter to swap out grip frames on Rugers. The XR-3RED grip frame, currently used on Blackhawks and original Vaquero, can be adapted to your New Vaquero with a little fitting.

One of the many advantages of Single Action revolvers is that so many parts are held on by screws!
