I posted a local add WTB Colt collections Pythons etc. I had a gentleman call me and tell me he wasn't a collector and inherited a gun from his father in law 26 yrs ago and it had been sitting in his safe collecting dust. I told him I was a value buyer so if he was trying to get max value of the gun I was probably the wrong person to talk with unless he had something I really wanted. I did tell him that I would get an idea of the value from my collecting friends and share that information with him and offer him a price based on the advice of my peers.
It has some wear as indicated in the pictures, does not have a box with it and I am not sure if the grips are original or not. I did tell him I thought the value of the gun to be somewhere around 1600.00 based on the condition and what I could see on GB completed auctions. And since I have around 6 4" Pythons albeit not as old but in much nicer shape I am not attracted to the gun unless I get a really good deal.
So, I am thinking 1K would be a good deal. Am I right or am I wrong?
