Seems like everyone offers a 2 inch 22 revolver. I had suggested to Colt after they offered the King Cobra Target, to offer a standard 2 inch Cobra in 22 lr. It is time for them to offer it

I’d rather see a 3” with the same barrel profile as the original Cobra .22.

Colt should offer other revolvers like the Viper, fixed sights , no frills for sport and defense. My suggestions are a 4 inch Official Police, stainless 357, a New Service in 44 mag and 45Colt, 4,and 6 inch barrels. I would also like to see a 3 inch Cobra 22 with either the older style barrel or even a 22 3 inch Viper. Another gaping hole in the Colt lineup is a 2 inch alloy frame, plus p 38, with optional hammer shroud. My most carried 2 inch 38 is a reparkerized to black 80s vintage Agent with a Colt hammer shroud. I also have another one without hammer shroud if I want to carry high cap. The alloy Colts shoot better and more comfortably than steel S&W J frames, and a lot more than their alloy frames. Just my thoughts.

Discussion about that just tonight. Future unknown but there are passionate advocates for a 2.5” or 3” .22. I’m one of them..
Don't know what Colt or any manufacturer has in the works, but I doubt I'd buy anything new, so can't contribute my thoughts. How about a 75 year old H&R 923 2-1/2", 9 shot. It's a rarer SA/DA model...it's my only short barrel .22

I think a revolver on the Anaconda frame with adjustable rear and front sights...a somewhat different barrel profile...and made available in various calibers for .38 Special through .45 Colt...in blue...ok...stainless as well...and it could be called the Shooting Master!

I still dream of a Python or Anaconda as well as a reintroduced New Frontier in 10mm as well!

What I would like combined with what I think will actually sell in volume:

King Cobra .22 in 2.5 or 3”, which ever allows the use of a full length ejector rod.

King Cobra .22’s in “blue”.

King Cobra in .22 magnum

Python, more “blued” options.

Anacondas in .45 Colt.

Anacondas in “blue”.

I had spoken to Lipseys, and suggested at least a limited run of 22 lr 2 I h Cobras. There’s already all the parts except a 22 fixed sight barrel. Sales rep thought it was a good idea and will present to the higher ups.

I think the big announcement at 2025 SHOT will be the new blued 4.25" Python with 2-vent ribs. :poop:
What you are gonna see for 2025 are blue Pythons in 2.5 and 3 inches and stainless Anacondas in .45 Colt, that is for sure..
I’d much prefer 45Maker’s dream come true! I’m definitely in for a blued 2.5 inch Python.

I disagree. I have sold several revolvers recently , some 38, some 357, that were safe queens or duplicates. Several were small to mid frame 38 that sold well. I just sold a Colt Official Police Mark 3 38. So for plinking, and defense,,there is still a demand. There always will be

Colt should have to reduce the number of 1911 offerings focusing on REAL COLTS nobody can offer, the market is full of modern 1911 copies..

A core line base on selected retro models with the real names roll marked on slide:

Pre war Government Model in .45 and .38 Super. Blue and Stainless
Colts Commander in .9mm, .38 super and .45 from the 50s.. Blue and Stainless
National Match in .38 Super, 9mm and .45..well fitted and finished in RoyalBlue and Bright Stainless.

With modern concesions being only the Delta Elite line: Delta Gold Cup, Delte Elite and Delta Commander. Make them "Series 70" with ramped barrel. Blue and Stainless.

The DAO revolver line is fine, replacing the rear sights with a decent one alike Wilson Combat and getting rid of poor quality altamont grips. Make the four inches Pythons with two vents and the 8 inches with four vents. Introduce 8 inches, 5 inches, 2.5 and .3 inches blued ones (Pythons) and offer the Anaconda in .45 Colt.
Could a New Service lookalike be made? Go ahead..it is pretty easy to do..

Starting up a new production of SAAs at decent prices, made an effort to reproduce 1st gens..if the italians can do it, Colts could do it. The lack of a SAA production line is a shame..

Introduce a line of SP1 and retro ARs at decent prices..an affordable SP1 will sell well..

And the last one, Why the italians can build Burgues and Lightings rifles and Colts can not do it..

Last time I was on the Colt Factory they were still busy and focused on military rifles (at one point I was Colt Defense representative and I can attest that Colts still sell and produce a lot of military rifles for a lot of international customers).

Again, this is never going to happen...

I appreciate that colt continues the production of SAA, although currently very limited. Their liability/legal department must lie awake at night staring at the ceiling in fear of the safety police. I recently reviewed the SAA manual; They all but say to never shoot it.

Several years ago, well before CZ bought Colt, I was still working for the Colt Distributor in this part of Old Europe, I reached the Custom Shop asking for small custom run, a 1911A1 repro or better yet a Pre War Government Model, I even reached TALO.

Of course, the answer was negative, the small parts needed for the project: slide stop, thumb safety, mainspring housing, hammer etc..were a serious problem, I offered them to provide de parts made by mim.

Another project I would like to see is an M15 General Officers Pistol or in other words a Pre Series 80 Commander with spur hammer.

Again, I have no hope...
