Trying to determine if a M1908 (.380) that I am considering has the correct slide on it. The serial number on the frame dates the pistol to 1911 and as I understand it a slide from this time-frame would not have the slide serialized to match the frame so no help there.
The slide itself has "Colt Automatic" over " Calibre .380 Hammerless" on the right side and on the left side "Patented" over "Apr 20, 1897" off to the left and "Colt's PT. F.A. Mfg. Co." over " Hartford, CT U.S.A." off to the right side of the slide.
Is this the correct slide for a M1908 dated by the frame serial number to 1911?
Thanks for any help or direction.
