Anybody buy firearms from this company?

What are your opinions about this company?

Thanks,
Mike

I have.
Both in person and by 'mail'.

Generally - if not absolutely - I have found the best if not only 'deals' to be in their advertising as when they travel - they seem only to bring premium pieces with premium prices.
Some buys on their site have been screaming deals for me.

Sold to and through them a couple-few times and it was very straight-up and simple.

Although I haven't purchased anything, I have been watching their site regularly. I enjoy seeing what they have available.
They seem to be adding new inventory consistently. Keep a lookout for missing mags or sights. They do list as such generally, but its important not to miss those details. Prices can vary, but what is priced right sells fast.

I looked up Simpson's not long ago, can't remember why. But impressed with their website and presentation. Never done business with them. Just looked again. They have a 1917 Government Model I'd dearly love to have...just the condition I like...but they want $2250 for it. Their website, as I said, it well put together and easy to navigate. Fun to browse. I don't recall hearing negative stuff about them. I like their company photo...they aren't faceless like a lot of online sales sites.

I like them a lot but typically when I see something that grabs my fancy it's way out of reach.

Yeah the consignment guns, the consignor usually wants market and then Simpson has to tack their fee on top...
The good deals I've gotten from them are mostly things out of their normal wheelhouse, like a US Model 96 signal pistol. Probably the best deal I ever got was a pair of Colt 1908 Hammerless magazines for $100, one of which was a really nice "M" marked. Don't expect to find a Luger or P.38 at bargain prices LOL. Although they had a decent post-war P.38 on there today for $500.

When you call to purchase, the representative will go and pull the gun out of inventory and walk you through any questions you might have. Fast shipping (although a tad expensive) and always packed well which is important! Oh yeah, they are also very FFL-03/Curio & Relic-friendly which is nice.

An example of their import mark. They get A LOT of stuff from Germany, Sweden and Norway. Husqvarnas everywhere you look!

I bought this from 'em recently, and the sales rep went out of his way to keep telling me it had a lot of rust... I might have missed it otherwise LOL.
It's a mess but all-matched super-rare late Y-block Spreewerk with FN frame... more for a conversation piece than any collector value.

Yes they are 100% legitimate and i buy from them often. they have good prices on some of the more obscure stuff like old sporting/hunting guns. I got a Husqvarna20b hammered shotgun with a lefaucheux underlever action for ~200% that was in NIB condition. 100% blue/CCH. Got a very well taken care of Merkel model 8 for about 600. Most recently i got a Deane-Adams revolver from them.

on the more well known brands they price at market rates generally. They are always very descriptive on their website and over the phone and will try to answer your questions the best they can. Their import mark is very small and they always place it somewhere out of the way. On the SxSs i have got from them they've placed it amongst all the proof marks under the barrels.

A few years ago, Simpson had a Stevens Walnut Hill #418-1/2 .22 LR in (honest!) NOS condition with a commensurate price tag on it that the consignor was not inclined to lower. I patiently waited and the price dropped but still beyond reason. After about a year with no movement, I called and made a reasonable offer which they accepted. It could've been bought out from under me but rifles like that are from a different era and it takes a special collector (like me) to appreciate them. This one replaced the exact make and model rifle that was stolen from my home 40 years ago. It had been given to my mother by my father before I was born. I won a turkey shoot with it when I was 10 years old, used it in competition while in high school and college.

I've bought a couple of handguns from them last year and I think I've bought more before that from them. They always have great communication and friendly helpful people to deal with. When I inquire about a pistol I'm interested in the sales rep goes and gets the pistol in question while I'm on the phone. He has it in hand while I'm on the phone which is great if I have any additional questions about the firearm. Shipping is usually the same day or next day and the gun arrives in 2 days. Excellent company and they have stuff for everyone from the millionaire collector to every day joes.

This is one of the very few threads I've ever seen on the forum where everyone actually agreed on the topic!

I appreciate all your feedback. It's nice to know this company is good to
deal with.

I've been studying and looking at Kongsberg M1914s for over a month.
Simpson has about 16 listings. Unfortunately, many have replacement barrels, but all of them are priced more fairly than the examples I'm seeing on Gunbroker.

(Plus, I don't have to read Bryant Ridge-like bullcrap descriptions 😉)
